These terms apply when you book tutoring, homeschooling, exam preparation or educational consulting services from Brainiac Scholars Limited. Booking a service means you accept them.
1. Our services
We provide home tutoring, online tutoring, homeschooling programmes, educational consulting, tutor matching, exam preparation and academic coaching. Services are delivered by tutors engaged and supervised by Brainiac Scholars Limited.
2. Consultation and matching
Every engagement begins with a free consultation. We then recommend a tutor based on your child’s learning needs, subjects, schedule and location. A placement is confirmed only after you approve the recommended tutor.
3. Fees and payment
- Fees depend on class level, subjects, number of sessions per week and whether lessons are held at home or online. A written quote is issued after your consultation.
- Lessons are paid for in advance of each cycle unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Fees are reviewed periodically. Existing clients receive notice before any change takes effect.
4. Scheduling, cancellation and missed lessons
- Lesson days and times are agreed with you at the start and should be kept consistent for best results.
- Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be counted as delivered.
- If a tutor cancels, the lesson is rescheduled at no extra cost or credited to your next cycle.
5. Tutor replacement
If the tutor is not the right fit, tell us within the first two lessons and we will rematch your child with another tutor at no additional cost. Matching is our responsibility.
6. Responsibilities of parents and guardians
- Provide a safe, quiet and appropriately supervised space for home lessons.
- Ensure a working device and stable internet connection for online lessons.
- Share accurate information about your child’s academic level and any learning needs so we can match and teach effectively.
- Engage tutors only through Brainiac Scholars Limited for the duration of the placement and for six months afterwards. Private arrangements outside the company remove our supervision, vetting and replacement guarantee.
7. Conduct and safeguarding
All tutors are vetted, reference-checked and required to follow our code of conduct. We expect mutual courtesy between tutors, students and families. We may end a placement immediately where conduct puts a student, a tutor or the integrity of our service at risk.
8. Results
We are committed to measurable academic improvement and monitor progress closely, but academic outcomes also depend on student effort, attendance and consistency. We therefore do not guarantee specific grades or examination results.
9. Materials and intellectual property
Lesson plans, worksheets, assessments and reports we supply are for the use of the enrolled student only. They may not be copied, resold or distributed without our written permission. Website content, branding and design remain the property of Brainiac Scholars Limited.
10. Ending an engagement
Either party may end an engagement with two weeks’ written notice. Any lessons already paid for will be delivered or credited within that period.
11. Liability
We take reasonable care in selecting, vetting and supervising tutors. To the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with our services is limited to the fees paid for the affected sessions.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
